Client Case Study: From Racing Thoughts to a Bigger Vision

How one business owner learned to trust herself, rest without guilt, and dream bigger.

“I didn’t have a vision — not just for my business, but for myself.”

When Becky began coaching, she was thriving by most external measures. Her business was growing. She was respected by her clients and team, committed to her work, and capable in so many ways.

But internally, she felt unsettled.

Without a clear vision for her life and work, she was untethered — pulled from one urgent decision to the next, without a larger direction to guide her.

Her mind rarely switched off. At night, she replayed possibilities and worst-case scenarios, trying to think her way into certainty.

“I often felt anxious. My thoughts were racing. I didn’t really have a grasp on where I wanted to go or who I wanted to become.”

She wasn’t looking for another planning or productivity tool.

What she wanted was deeper: to become someone who could lead her life and business with more clarity and confidence.

An Investment in Herself

Becky wasn’t looking for coaching on how to make more money or accelerate her business growth.

This was about her.

She describes the decision to invest in coaching as “75% personal and 25% business.” She knew that if she could become more grounded and self-trusting, it would naturally shape the way she led, made decisions, and built her business.

After attending her first Arborvida workshop, she felt genuinely excited.

“I remember thinking, ‘These are my people.’ I left feeling energized. Whatever we talked about that day touched something in me.”

She was ready to make this investment in herself.

Creating a Vision Bigger Than the Next To-Do List

Becky approached the entire coaching journey with curiosity and trust.

But a key turning point came during the Envision phase of the Arborvida Approach - when she created a long-term, holistic vision for her leadership.

Until then, Becky had focused on the immediate future: the next task, next goal, next practical decision. The vision work invited her to pause and ask questions that felt both bigger and more personal:

Who do I want to become?
What kind of life am I creating?
What becomes possible when I let myself dream bigger?

As she gave herself permission to imagine more, her relationship with possibility began to change.

“That really shifted something for me. I realized I didn’t have to limit my dreams to what seemed realistic in the next few months. I could imagine the bigger picture.”

Her vision is still evolving and she beams with excitement as she speaks about it. She continues adding new aspirations as sticky notes — visible reminders that she is actively creating a life and business that reflect what matters to her.

Building Confidence Through Action

Becky’s biggest transformation wasn’t one dramatic external result. It was a gradual evolution of the way she related to herself.

“My confidence needed to shift.”

For years, uncertainty triggered self-doubt, which led her to hedge her aspirations. She questioned whether she was capable enough and whether difficult decisions were beyond her.

As she engaged in coaching, reflection, and peer conversations, that inner voice began to change its tone.

Instead of: I can’t do that. That will be too hard.

She was reminded:

“I can do hard things.”

That belief changed the way she approached opportunities, challenges, and the unknown. She no longer needed a guarantee before taking the next step. She had begun to trust that she could meet the moment when it arrived.

Learning That Rest Is Not Something to Earn

One lesson from the coaching experience stayed with Becky long after the program ended: nature does not apologize for seasons of rest.

Like trees that appear dormant in winter while preparing for new growth, she began to understand that rest is not a detour from progress. It’s part of it.

For someone who had long succumbed to a belief that she had to earn rest, this was a deeply meaningful shift.

“I always felt like I had to finish one more thing before I could sit down.”

Now, she intentionally makes room to pause as she moves towards her vision - knowing she leads and lives better when she’s restored.

Trusting Herself at a Crossroads

The depth of Becky’s transformation became especially clear when the time came for her to make a big decision in the direction of her broader vision. She made the choice to let go of a familiar, steady source of income to create space for new possibilities.

Earlier in her journey, the uncertainty of the situation would have felt overwhelming. Now, she feels different.

Rather than becoming consumed by fear, she’s grounded in her ability to navigate what comes next.

“I know I’ll figure it out as I go.”

She doesn’t suddenly have every answer, but she finally trusts herself enough to move forward without them.

Becoming the Leader of Her Own Life

When asked whether the coaching journey was worth the investment, Becky’s answer was immediate:

“It was worth it.”

She learned to dream bigger than her immediate circumstances, create space for rest, and trust herself through uncertainty.

Today, Becky feels more hopeful, more energized, and more at peace with where she is heading. She sleeps better at night.

She didn’t just create a clearer vision for her future.

She became the kind of leader who believes she is capable of building it.
