The Space That Steadies
The Space That Steadies
As the chaos of the world grows, silence is something I’ve come to crave, in the same way the body craves rest or water.
Not as a means of escaping reality, but to resource myself to continue meeting it with a steady mind and an open heart.
Each year, I carve out several days to practice silence and non-doing. What strikes me at the end of a silent retreat is that nothing dramatic happens. And yet, everything subtly shifts.
I remember how natural it feels to care for my body when there’s nothing else vying for my attention.
I connect with the steady presence that exists beneath the roles I play and the responsibilities I carry.
I notice the patterns of my mind and the sneaky ways I avoid feeling uncomfortable emotions.
I feel deep gratitude for the many blessings that surround me.
I touch into a sense of awe over the mystery and beauty of life.
Each experience deepens my attunement to what grounds me, and what pulls me away from the deeper essence of who I am. This awareness naturally informs micro-shifts in my daily routines - shifts that unlock more energy, hope and steadiness.
There’s so much happening in our world, and we’re exposed to soooo much information. What we lack, more than anything these days, is space. Space to pause. Space to sense. Space to process. Space to reflect before reacting. Space to remember what matters.
And while we might quietly crave that space, few of us have been taught how to settle into it. How to work with the restlessness, boredom and discomfort that can arise when we slow down. How to quiet the mind and find refuge in the simplicity of the moment.

This is what Friday’s Mindful Leadership Immersion is designed to offer.
A gentle and thoughtfully guided environment where you can step out of “doing” mode and into a deeper quality of presence. Where you’ll receive support as you notice your patterns, reconnect with your body, and touch into a more grounded, creative and restorative way of leading.
If your calendar is open this Friday, take this as a sign. Would love to have you there.
