Trust in the Moment
19 MAY 2027 | 9AM - 4PM PST IN CARP, ONTARIO
An Improvisational Leadership Experience to foster adaptability, presence and possibility. Explore how you show up when there isn’t a script to follow - through exercises, peer dialogue and self-reflection in a beautiful nature-based setting.
This experience is hosted by Rebecca Wilson in partnership with Daniel Johnston (Improv Guide) and Derek Johnston (Face Value Coaching).
Cultivating your capacity to adapt and respond to whatever arises
If you’re leading anything these days, there’s a good chance you’re being asked to make decisions before you have all the information, adjust on the fly, and help other people stay grounded when you may still be working things through yourself.
That’s exactly the territory we’ll work with on this retreat.
An ideal setting to explore, connect, and grow
We’ll be in a beautiful natural environment, moving between indoor and outdoor spaces, with room to walk, laugh, explore, reflect and have the type of conversations that don’t happen in a conference room.
There will be challenge in the day — there has to be if you’re going to learn anything useful about yourself. But we’ll create the conditions that make it easy to try, fun to engage, and conducive to real learning.
The energy of the morning’s improv activities will gradually give way to a more spacious afternoon.
An exercise in trust
The one-day experience uses improvisation and guided reflection as a practical way to explore how you show up when there’s no script to follow.
You won’t spend the day sitting around talking about adaptability and presence. You’ll get to practise it.
We’ll use simple improv exercises that invite you to listen more closely, respond to what’s actually happening, build on what someone else offers, and notice what becomes possible when you loosen your grip a little.
Turn insight to action
As we shift into the second half of the day, we’ll reflect on what happened. What did you notice about yourself? When did you trust yourself? What happened when you stopped trying to control the outcome and really listened to what someone else was offering?
From there, you’ll connect those observations to the leadership situations you’re actively dealing and choose something practical to experiment with when you’re back at work.
You’ll leave having practised, in a very real way, what it feels like to stay present, adapt when things don’t unfold as expected, and remain open to possibilities you might otherwise have missed.
